Finished; Finito; Finis; Ferdig; Klaar!!!!!

It is with great joy and happiness that I proclaim the Babette blanket complete!!

I was able to work out that it was started sometime before September 2009, so it has been a looong project.
I do remember the day I visited Tangled yarns and the owner Kelly showing me the pattern on Ravlery.
My heart skipped a beat when I saw it.
I thought to myself, 'well that sure beats a granny square blanket any day of the week'.

So it began, the Babette adventure.
Would I do one again??  Probably in 10 years time......

  1. Oh my! That is incredible! Megan,
you must be so thrilled with it ... it's a contemporary heirloom, really. And the colours are just superb, and your work is so perfect!

But even everything else on your bed is gorgeous! I'm studying your quilt ... I think I'll embark on a simple Queen Sized one next.
I've just finished Martha's and thrown it in the wash ... hope it holds together! Ha. Ha. Sob.

Even that lamp requires further study. Children in the photos, of course, are beautifully produced!

    Fin.

  2. Your bedroom is ridiculously groovy and gorgeous. I love all the colour with the white walls, it's so happy and stylish.
A huge congratulations on the completion of the Babette blanket. You know good things come to those that wait, and patience is a virtue stuff is so true. I wholeheartedly agree that it is an heirloom that will be passed down through the generations. You're amazing and incredible, and my soggy painters arms are feeling rather pathetic when they see this production.
    Well done.
    Klaar. xx

  3. I think you need to see this blog ... http://danitaart.blogspot.com/

You may know it. If not, I'd be sitting down before you open it, if I was you. I gasped and screamed, "Oh my God!"

  5. Thanks so much lovely ladies!!
MMMC- The colours are lovely, I had a real thing for that lovely aqua colour back then (don't think its gone away yet). The lamp was bought from a vintagey, collectable shop at Pomona. The label said 'not electrically tested' so it does scare me a bit. I paid $50 for it, which was extrememley hard but I couldn't leave it..
Danita art is amazing you are right, put that one in the favourites straight away.

Sonia and Melissa thanks so much for your lovely words, muchly appreciated.
